Charleston is always a wonderful place to visit, but weekends during the Christmas Season are especially magical. Marion Square and the City Market are full of vendors with their holiday wares.

Tour Magnolia Plantation and view the many colorful camellias. Dinner will be at the Charleston Crab House on James Island. The group will take in the light festival at James Island City Park. This festival just gets larger and better each year. The Festival of Lights is much more than just a driving tour! Come and experience exciting attractions custom-designed for holiday cheer.

Stroll through Santa’s Village and see the meticulously hand-crafted holiday sand sculpture constructed with 50-tons of sand. View sugary structures entered in the gingerbread house competition. Shop at Santa’s Attic and the Incredible Gift Shoppe for hand-crafted goodies from local artisans, official 14-kt gold on brass collector series ornaments, toys, personalized gifts, angelic decorations and many stocking stuffers.

Spoil your sweet tooth at Santa’s Sweet Shoppe, Frosty’s Treats or the Northpole Diner. Make s’mores at the marshmallow roasting pits, take a photo with Santa and then hop aboard the train for an up-close look at the light displays. Plus, you’ll enjoy nightly entertainment featuring bands, storytellers and much more.

Wander over to Winter Wonderland where a traditional 18-animal carousel ride whirls you around. Don’t miss the towering 4-by-8 foot holiday card designs created by local school students as part of the annual holiday art competition.

Saturday, following breakfast, tour the Historic District with admission to the Edmonston Alston House, all decked out in its Christmas finery. Afternoon allows time to explore on your own in Marion Square, City Market and King Street. Dinner this evening will be at Sticky Fingers BBQ. Evening entertainment will be at the Charleston Music Hall, with the sites and sounds presented by Brad and Jenny Moranz – “Charleston Christmas Special”. “A Must See Show!”

“America’s Got Talent! No, it’s not on NBC TV, and it’s not judged by Piers, Sharon and David. It’s here in Charleston at the Charleston Music Hall. If it were on TV, every act would be passed on to Las Vegas.

I’m referring, of course, to the latest presentation by the Brad and Jennifer Moranz Company. Their shows just keep getting better and better, and Charleston is blessed to have them.”
