Nashville Base Package

Experience the "Nashville Sound"! What is the "Nashville Sound?" Well, it certainly has a country overlay, but the music that is written, produced and performed in Nashville extends well beyond country's borders. All genres are celebrated in Music City.

Today, Nashville is home to performers climbing the country, pop, classical/jazz, Christian/gospel, R&B/hip-hop, and Top 40 charts. Whether it's Young Buck or Dierks Bentley ... Michael W. Smith or Michael McDonald ... Kid Rock or Sugarland, this is where musicians come to stay ... and come to play! With more than 120 live music venues in town ranging from intimate clubs that seat 60 all the way up to a 67,000-seat stadium, there are ample opportunities to enjoy the music of today's superstars or discover tomorrow's chart topper.

While the sound is all encompassing, the roots of the city's music scene are proudly country. There are many ways to explore the city's musical heritage by day and enjoy the full spectrum of entertainment by evening.

Day 1 - Dinner at the Stockyard Restaurant -known for their fine steaks

Day 2 - Tour the city of Nashville with time to take in the Country Music Hall of Fame, RCA Studio B, Historic Ryman Auditorium. Lunch at Belle Mead Plantation followed by a tour of the house. A renowned thoroughbred horse farm, the bloodlines of some of today's most famous horses trace their lineage back to Belle Meade. (West Nashville) Return to the hotel to get ready for the evening entertainment at the Nashville Nightlife Dinner Show where you might see some of the entertainers who make Nashville famous.

From a musical perspective, Nashville is certainly known as a creative center. Those same artistic instincts extend to the visual and performing arts, as well. Long known as the "Athens of the South," for the emphasis placed on education and the fine arts, Nashville is home to a vibrant cultural scene. The prevalence of Greek Revival architecture found throughout the city also acts as a reminder of Nashville's kinship with the ancient.

Begin your tour of Nashville at Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre. Nashville's oldest professional theatre has been offering Nashville's most unique dining and entertainment experience for 40 years. Enjoy a scrumptious Southern-style buffet and be impressed in our theatre-in-the round with its "magic stage" that descends from the ceiling at the start of each exciting production!

Day 2 - will begin your tour of Nashville, seeing some of the many historic sites of the city including the Historic Hotels - Hermitage Hotel, - Union Station Hotel, The Parthenon, Ryman Auditorium, St. Mary's Church,  and the Tennessee State Capitol. Lunch on own at one of the local restaurants. Tour the Country Music Hall of Fame. Free time to shop at Opry Mills Outlet Center. Dinner and entertainment aboard the General Jackson Dinner Cruise. If you are here on Saturday evening , enjoy a show at the Grand Ole Opry.

Day 3 - Tour the Gaylord Opryland Hotel followed by lunch at the Water's Edge Marketplace

Nashville has played a prominent role in shaping not only the history of Tennessee and the South, but the entire nation. As home to two of the state's three U.S. presidents, Middle Tennessee offers insight into a bygone era when the nation was still young and struggling. From the graceful architecture and opulent antiques of well-preserved area homes to the colorful characters that peopled those residences, Nashville helps bring history to life.

Visit Historic Home Fort Nashborough, a replica of the first settlement where Nashville's pioneer families lived until Indian attacks ended in 1792. Among the early inhabitants was little Rachel Donelson who would later become Mrs. Andrew Jackson. Belmont Mansion, ornate home to the always-intriguing Adelicia Acklen, who has long been rumored to be one of the real-life inspirations for Scarlett O'Hara.

Lunch at Belle Meade Plantation, a renowned thoroughbred horse farm the bloodlines of some of today's most famous horses trace their lineage back to Belle Meade.

The Hermitage, home of President Andrew Jackson: The extensive grounds include the seventh president's own home plus Tulip Grove , lavish gardens, family grave site, slave quarters and outbuildings, church, an education center and museum.

Historic Carnton Plantation, this elegant home was turned into a field hospital during the Battle of Franklin.

Return to the hotel to refresh for evening. Dinner at Opryland Hotel, set in an antebellum-style mansion in which every table has a gorgeous view of our indoor river, the ultimate dining experience at Old Hickory Steakhouse is second to none.

With a menu that features cowboy bone-in rib steak and perfectly aged filet mignon, as well as unique and individually crafted reduction sauces, there is no wrong choice at Old Hickory Steakhouse. An award-winning wine list, coupled with artisanal cheeses from the Maitre Fromager, has helped Old Hickory Steakhouse earn its designation as a "Distinguished Restaurant of North America." Old Hickory Steakhouse was voted "Best Wait Staff" by At Home Tennessee readers in 2008!

Day 3 - Enjoy some shopping time at the nearby Opry Mills Outlet Mall before departing for home.
